GLPB
The GLPB puts you in the shaper’s headspace – it stands for ”Greg Liddle Personal Board”, the design Greg mainly chose to ride, particularly when surfing Malibu.
The bottom contour is deeply rolled with a lot of foam in the middle and very knifed-out rails. The outline is full with the wide point forward from centre, a classic Liddle-style rounded nose, and a little more width in the rounded squash tail. There’s a soft trailing foil, the hard edge only forming a few inches from the tail block.
Despite a little flip in the nose, the rocker is low running to pretty flat in the tail.
This is an ideal design for softer surf with a medium to long length of ride so you can tap into the relaxing speed that displacement hull fans know and love.
Glassed-on side bites enhance the single fin for drive and control.
Length range: 5’8” to 8’
Greg Liddle says:
“This was my personal template that I tweaked and refined over years of surfing.
It’s a great all-round hull design, a neutral handling board that makes the best use of the energy in a winding wave.”
